How do you tell if a cisco phone system shared line is in use when you have an incoming call? My boss and I share a line on a Cisco IP Phone. When a call comes in, I cannot tell whether she is on another call or not. There must be a way besides barging into her office.
When am I being Monitored? Cisco Phone System? When am I being monitored at work? We have a new phone system at work and I cannot figure out when I am being monitored. My phone says Cisco 7600 IP phone or something like that. I go to my task manager and I see the monitoring program running but it doesn't start to count, my monitor doesn't blink, I do not hear an echo, etc... Does anybody know how to tell if you are being monitored at work when your company is using a Cisco VOIP phone system? I do not care for the "you should just do your job stuff". If you know that answer I would appreciate it. If you just want to preach go take it somewhere else.
How do I "get into" my Cisco phone system? My Cisco skill set is beginner. I've taken over for an ex-employee "that ain't talking" I can use SDM to get into the phone router, I've set the date/time proper, set a valid NTP server, then I've pretty much left it alone for weeks. The time has come to configure a new handset/add a new user. I have a feeling that part of the phone system administration is done through other software/interface. I'm lost. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks tbshmkr, thanks for telling me things I obviously know. And ex-employees are usually supportive of the friendly co-workers they've left behind if they want to have any contacts in the industry down the road. I didn't fire him, but he's burned a bridge with me down the road. If he ever get's stuck at his new job, he won't be able to call me for help. I was looking for a technical tip, and instead I got your worthless answer. Thank you for nothing. By the way, the correct answer is, while on the same subnet as the phone system, go to http://IP address/telephony_service.html. Now jog on.
Cisco IP 7970 phone system - How to reset the default voicemail option? I have been provided with a new phone by my company which features different setting options including voicemail setting. As default setting, you have the system voice recorded which plays (when non-answering the phone) and to which you can add your name (with your own voice) at the end of the default system voice message. The problem is that when I recorded my name, I hanged up because I couldn't do it properly (I was laughing....) and wanted to try later. But unfortunatly, the default voice system has disapeared. How can I reset the default voice system please?

Cisco IP Phone running on Broadband? I'm looking to find out as to whether a Cisco System will work over a broadband connection? Time Warner told me that have had issues with business IP phones over their Fiber network. Is there any truth to this?
Does anyone know how to connect/use an IP conference phone with your laptop when working remotely? I have an HP laptop and am using bluetooth to connect to the internet. I have a Cisco Systems IP Conference phone that is plugged in correctly. The conference phone is plugged into a power outlet and the port is plugged into my computer. The IP phone keeps saying "Configuring IP" and doesn't do anything else. Does anyone know how to get this conference phone working with my laptop? I would like to be able to have a conference call with this phone. Thank you!
Hosted ip phone solution? We currently host our own ip phone system (Cisco AVVID) and are exploring whether it would be more cost effective to have it hosted externally. We will need an ip phone solution for our office, with extension calling, caller id, conf calling, etc... We will need international calling as well. In addition, we have remote offices internationally which we would like networked within this hosted solution. Does anyone have recommendations for reliable providers of this type of service?

Are there any reliable and reasonable PRI-T1 providers that will service the NYC area? We currently have a PRI-T1 where all our domestic long distance and internataional calls are routed via IP. We pay a discounted rate for different countries, and a flat rate within the US. We are looking to replace this provider due to problems with our caller ids not appearing properly or at all, and the voice quality issues where calls are dropped or choppy. Are there any reliable and reasonable providers that will service the NYC area. We currently have the Cisco Avvid IP Phone System.
How can I connect 2 PC's to a CISCO IP phone? I am on a corporate network. We used to plug a CISCO IP phone (7911) to the wall, then connect a the PC to the phone. Everything worked fine, but then I got a laptop and i want to connect it to the system. So, I bought a switch, connected it to the cable coming out of the phone and attached the PC and the laptop to it. Only one of the devices (the PC or the laptop) connects, the other one doesn't. I tried different topologies, i even connected the switch to the wall and then connected the 3 other devices to it (PC, Laptop, and Phone) but then the phone did not connect. Is there something i am missing?

Linksys by Cisco Ultra RangePlus wireless system for Mac HELP!? First off, I'd just like to get answers from people that have successfully hooked up this system to a Mac. I've tried EVERYTHING up until this point to get this system to stay working. It basically works when it wants too, which you can guess is very irritating. It will only work in certain spots and only for a short time before it loses connection and I have to start walking around again. I read up (on here actually) that a cordless phone could be interfering, which we do not have or that a neighbor could be using the same system. Our neighbors aren't close to us so I don't believe that's an issue either. What the heck can be wrong???! Please help!
Is there a device which turns the digital signal into analogue using VoIP? I work at a radio station, and we're moving our phone system over to VoIP. However, we need to turn the digital feed coming from our Cisco 7960's into an analogue feed [normal phone line cable] so that we can plug it into our Telephone Balance Unit / Hybrid, so we can put the calls to air. However I haven't found a device that can do this, any ideas?
Juniper versus Cisco...thoughts? We're splitting our HQ in two, moving about 40 folks over to a new location. We have an Avaya phone system and will be deploying IP phones at the new site over a pair of bonded point-to-point T1's. Our phone vendor is recommending Juniper J2300's on both ends...I've read a few bad reviews and some good reviews of Juniper. I'm cross-shopping a Cisco 1841 on one end (costs about $400 more than the Juniper) and a Cisco 2811 on the other end (costs more but has 4 WIC slots...more on that later). The reason I'm looking at a beefier router on the HQ end is that I'd like to potentially retire some of our SonicWALL devices to sort of 'clean up' what has become a pretty complex network and condense them into one chassis....and I hear that Juniper's strength is firewalls...in which case realistically I'd probably go for a J2320, again to get the extra slots...but the 2320 costs about the same as the Cisco.... ...so do I go with the newcomer Juniper or do I 'Pay the Piper' for Cisco?
Cisco IP telephone technology? http://www.starshipcorp.com/shop_dealer/images/Cisco%20IP%20Phone%20CP-7941G.jpeg My school has Cisco IP telephones in all offices. Like the one shown above. Whats the specialty of IP telephones as compared to the usual telephone at home? Does the IP telephone operate on the local intranet/ethernet? And the voice is sent as packets? Hence how can u guarantee about quality as packets might get lost/damaged due to network congestion? Also, if a certain institution has an IP phone system that means their internal calls are free of charge right? (As they already have an ethernet network)

How can I get a Job at Disney World, FL?...? I have some years in the theme park industry, I started working Maintenence at a Six Flags park, in 1999. But that is just summer work. After that, I went into food service and made supervisor of the Food Warehouse. Also helped a lot with catering, and park stands. So I know every aspect of food service for that park. But it is seasonial. I went to school for computers, PC repair and Computer Networking systems(Cisco). Does anyone have any phone numbers, e-mail addresses of Disney? Thanks!! P.S. The cruse ship would be fine as well!
Anyone know what the song from the Cisco commercial is? There's a commercial for Cisco Systems, advertising the "Human Network." In it, an unseen man uses a cell phone to take a video of a young African-American boy dancing; the video clip is then watched by people all over the world, ending up on a huge screen in Times Square. I love the song in the commercial, but I can't figure out what it is or who it's by! The Cisco site doesn't say. If anyone could tell me, I would really appreciate it!
What makes the new iPhone from Apple so "revolutionary"? I know they're in court for taking Cisco system's iPhone name, but what is so cool about this new phone?

How do I find the password or passkey for linksys router? How do I find the password or passkey for my linksys cisco router? It works for the PC but I'm trying to make it work on a netbook. I don't want to reset it because it took ages on the phone with the company to set the whole system up. Thank you.
Question for Cisco Professionals...is it safe to turn off CDP? I have a medium small sized network...about 12 nodes each with a router and switch or stack. Cisco CallManager is the main VOIP with several servers (publisher and subscribers). My question is more about network security, safety and Cisco CallManager...I'm not entirely up to speed on the interactions on the network with CallManager between the servers and the phones. I know that without a VOIP system in-place, it's advised to turn off CDP unless you really need it, for security reasons. If I turn off CDP, will it affect anything in the VOIP system?
Problem Connecting to the Internet W/ My Laptop? Here's my situation. My Laptop was thrown and the screen got busted, It was sent to the manufacture and fixed. Well, today I got it back and I cannot connect to the Internet for some reason now. Here's what I'm looking at - I have 1 Digital Broadband RCA box, 1 Broadband Router lynksys and 1 lynksys Cisco Systems Broadband Router w/ 2 phone port. The Digital Broadband RCA box is where the Cable line is connected, and from there the internet is ran through an Ethernet wire to the rest of my Routers. Why I have two Routers I have no Idea, however, only one is wireless I believe? I've used all three of these boxes for quite some time now to connect to the internet and they've worked fine up till now. My Laptop is showing that I'm receiving a connection and Signal but is not picking it up for some reason. Says a Network Device may be Disconnected. Does anyone know what could be causing my Laptop to not connect to the internet? Thanks, I hope I can get it working =[
How can I monitor Internet activity on a mostly Mac network? We have a small'ish network, maybe 15 connections total. We have a server (Tiger) but only use it for file storage. It is just one more computer on the network. We run through a Cisco ethernet switch, then through an Edgemark that manages data traffic for our Speakeasy VoIP phone system. We're having call problems, and Speakeasy says that our network is at 100% though we aren't doing any uploads. Could be one or more computers have malware of some kind. Question - how can I monitor the Internet activity and determine where the activity is coming from?
Whats this the title of this Information Technology job? I am a System Administrator but most of the time I am finding better ways for the company to do things. Not just in IT but in all aspects of the company. For instance: We have Cisco phones, which are tied to the database, when a customer calls customer service their name and phone number appear to the agent on their monitor. I decided to take it a step further, why not have the phone run a SQL query to the database and display the customers complete profile (including past purchases and help desk tickets). I make suggestions all the time! I have changed the way the IT department communicates to the average employee since the technical speak isn't the average joe's cup of tea. There are all sorts of projects that I have changed to make them more understandable and I am always asked how to make projects work better and to express someones ideas when they can't find the correct way to explain it in common terms to everyone. I have no idea what this type of job would be called.
What would be the benefits to America pulling companies out of China? The Clinton administration sponsored communist china into the World Trade Organization. Since then, american companies have beaten down the communist door in the hopes of reaping the benefits of cheap labor, massive profits, etc. But at what cost? Here are some facts: 1. Communist China holds over 1/3 of our debts 2. 4.5 million jobs have left the US and have gone to communist China 3. 2.2 million new jobs were created by US companies in communist China and not in the US. 4. If you add up the loss in income, growth, taxes to support schools, investments, SS, etc, the figures are huge! 5. Communist China does not respect intellectual property rights -- theft is the name of the game over there. The loses to US companies are staggering! Cisco's entire router software was stolen by a China's company and is now being sold aboard -- this is just one example. 6. Communist China, which respect to foreign policy, is on the opposite side of almost every US position! 7. from newsweek today: By Melinda Liu Newsweek July 16, 2007 issue - Wang Hai's phone won't stop buzzing. Everyone in China seems to want urgent help from the country's No. 1 consumer-rights advocate. He helps not only ordinary buyers of defective goods but whistle-blowers who risk their lives by outing unscrupulous firms. "A good system for guaranteeing quality control simply doesn't exist in China," says Wang, who has spent more than 10 years trying to clean up the Chinese marketplace. "Even confidential informants can wind up dead, under suspicious circumstances. I personally know of two." The list goes on and on. The BENEFITS for US to move everything back to the homeland would be huge!!!! Anyone Agree ?
What switch is better CISCO OR AVAYA.? I work with a large health care company. And we are looking into a new phone switch Solution. We have over 400 analog phones and around 1000 digital phones at the main building. We also have around 10 smaller buildings that talk to the main building through a Nortel switch. That is what we have at present( Nortel ). All of the smaller buildings that have shelves off our main also have analog lines. Not all of the buildings have fiber ties to them. So the question is this. Which switch would be better in the long run. We will keep the main one we have for the time being as it is the newest of the bunch. We will be replacing the smaller ones first. But which system would be the better in this scenario.
How do I boost my signal of a lynksis Cisco N router or set up an acces point? I have a four story house. My computer downstairs when I'm online or downloading, it uses up all the bandwidth of my router(2nd floor) and so my Laptop(3rd floor) and my game system(4th floor) can't get enough signal strength to get online. Plus my internet phone running through the router doesn't work from time to time. And my router does not have antennas. Should I try upgrading from a 6000 internet service to a 16000 or try boosting signal or create access point? Also, I don't know if something like this is available, but, is there a device that I can get, that if I put it on the 3rd floor or 4th floor will help to broadcast the signal evenly? Any Ideas that can help me out, is appreciated. Thanks

Can my company's IT dept tell where I am logging into the VPN from? I have a telecommuting job for a large s/w company, but want to telecommute from somewhere warmer in the US for a couple of months, and don't want to let my boss know :-) Can the IT dept easily know my whereabouts if my boss asks them? I am using a company laptop and use the following s/w to connect: - Verizon air card (completely 100% my own) - based on Qualcomm 3G CDMA - VPN client: Cisco v 4.8.x or higher - VOIP soft phone: Cisco Communicator 2.x (I use this for internal conf. calls) - MyDesktop: is a company proprietaty software, which allows system admins to automatically upgrade your laptop with upgrades; and a central location for IT messages/warnings. Also supplies licensed sw delivery My initial guess is that the company's VPN server will be able to see the VPN connection request coming from an IP address that is owned by Verizon. However, what I am worried about, is that the cell tower / satelite uplink company name will be added to the foot print, such as "Florida Telco", "Hawaii Telco", etc... Thanks in advance !! Thank you for the responses already received. Please note the following clarification to my question... Based on the information provided earlier, and from a *purely technical standpoint* ... 1. does my company have the technical means to find out my general geographical location - if I am dialing in from a different state? 2. If so, how can they know? 3. Is it possible for me to block that info? Thanks again :-)

CTI Query - Telecommunications / ICT? This is the scenario: An organization providing call center functionality to about 100 remote sites or more. Call center functions include: CTI software on PC, which shows call duration, MCID (Malicious Call Identification) information, and customized website as necessary (preference is to be supplied with software that allows statistics information to be be put in by call receivers.). Also, digital telephony system will accept PSTN phone numbers and let individual users connect their private phones into the CTI system for their use. Is this possible with any current products? I have checked with Cisco. Not coming in until a much later version of Call Manager...

Who are the leaders in technology? On the water cooler wars (debating politics) the subject of technology came up. It was said that Japan is kicking America's butt in terms of technology. But if that is true, why do we not see more japanese logos on technology products? Are their logos inside the products? Are they producing(designing/engineering) chips or are they just manufacturing the chips. Are they producing atom chips? And in terms of America, is Windows Vista being sold around the world? Or only here in America? Is China/Japan buying America's Cisco products, HP products, Dell products, Microsoft products, etc. ? If the japanese are making better Operating Systems or networking devices, why do we not see it here? If they have better technology out on the market, can you please specify that technology? Whether it be phones or vehicles. Why do people keep saying they are ahead? How are they ahead? Are they ahead in the current market? Or is it just predicted that they will be ahead in the coming market? Please quote a question above and answer the specific question with a specific (CITED) answer. Same rules for answering multiple questions. Please cite your source, I believe in credible sources, not talk. Respectfully, I read all answers and I deeply thank and appreciate anyone who takes the time to read what I have to say and respond to it. Again Thank You.
You think Israel is a thrid world country? I saw on a previous question, someone implied that Israel was a 3rd world country. Obviously he doesn't know anything about Israel. Israel's contributions and accomplishments: Agriculture * The average palm tree, which has been growing in the Middle East for centuries, is about 18-20 feet tall and yields about 38 pounds of dates a year. Israeli date trees are now yielding 400 pounds/year and are short enough to be harvested from the ground or a short ladder. * Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees. This gain was achieved in an area considered mainly desert. Hi-Tech * The cell phone was developed by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola. * Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. * The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel. * Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. * Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel. * The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed by four young Israelis. * With more than 3,000 high-tech companies, Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world (apart from Silicon Valley). Medicine * Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer. * An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. 7,000 patients a year die from treatment mistakes in U.S. hospitals. * Israelis developed the first ingestible video camera (so small it fits inside a pill) used to view the small intestine from the inside. * Israeli researchers developed a device that helps the heart pump blood and has the potential to save the lives of those with heart failure. * Clear Light, a new acne treatment developed in Israel, produces a light that kills acne bacteria without damaging surrounding skin or tissue. Military * Israel has the fourth largest air force in the world (after the U.S, Russia and China). Economy * Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined. * Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds (behind the U. S.) Outside the U.S. and Canada, Israel has the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies. * Israel has the highest average living standards in the Middle East. * The per capita income in 2000 was over $17,500, exceeding that of the UK. Education and Research * Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita. * Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world. * Twenty-four per cent of Israel's workforce holds university degrees, ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and Holland and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees. * On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups. * Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin - 109 per 10,000 people --as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed. Innovation * In proportion to its population, Israel has the largest number of start-up companies in the world. In absolute terms, Israel has the largest number of start-up companies than any other country in the world, except the U.S. * An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale, solar-powered electricity generating plant. * Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security. * Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship -- and the highest rate among women and among people over 55 - in the world. * Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan. With over 25% of its work force employed in technical professions. Israel places first in this category as well. Thriving Democracy * Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East. * In 1984 and 1991, Israel airlifted a total of 22,000 Ethiopian Jews (Operation Solomon) at Risk in Ethiopia, to safety in Israel. * When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world's second elected female leader in modern times. * Relative to its population, Israel is the largest immigrant-absorbing nation on earth. Immigrants come in search of democracy, religious freedom, and economic opportunity. * Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books. * Israel has more museums per capita than any other country. Israel achieved all of the above accomplishments despite being continually at war with neighboring countries What are you talking about "live like Americans" Israel is more industrialized than most of Europe and they like to spend their money just like Americans. The economy really took off when they opened up the markets. If there's a country outside the US that really values the American style of living its Israel. I can't back that up with a source, that's just my opinion from living there 16 years. I would agree that Gaza has the standard of living of a 3rd world country, The west bank would qualify as 2nd world probably. Except for the Israeli settlements which seem to thrive. But I did not slip on my words, I meant Israel when I said Israel. I wish I could find a country called Palastine next to Israel on the map but there has been nothing but poor leadership for the poor Palastinian people. They preach hate and use all of their foreign aid on weapons instead of trying to create jobs. You see the Palastinians just have to recognize a right of the State of Israel to exist and they can get a really good deal, but they don't. They (poor leaders that is) want it all, they want to remove all the Israelis. They don't realize that even if it is their land (and I believe it is not) they have to compromise. Why don't the people stand up to their leaders that lead them to suffering? by the way, Warsaw Ghetto? they call checkpoints comperable to WWII ghettos. What a shame. I never heard of gas chambers or labor camps in Gaza or the West Bank. The west bank isn't bad at all, and Gaza is just a big slum. Hardly WWII ghetto. Don't kid yourself. Heso, I have to disagree. The fact that they have such an aggressive military shows that they have learned from the past. They say "Never again" and they mean it. They have to be strong. Otherwise a country like Iran will try to wipe them off the map. Their neighbors are constantly attacking them. I think you read too many illegitimate websites and their false claims about the situation in Gaza. I challenge you to talk to people who have been there if you can't make a trip yourself. There's a lot of sights to see, you would probably enjoy it. For the record, I didn't type it all, i copied and pasted. I know what you meant, and to make that analogy is disgracefully dishonest. They are not committing genocide, if they wanted to that they would have killed them all by now. There are no labor camps, there are no gas chambers, they actually provide millions of dollars worth of aid into Gaza, which isn't even part of Israel anymore. Like I said above, Instead of using all of their aid to provide people with jobs, the Palastinians buy weapons to terrorize and train young children to terrorize. If only the Nazis did that to the Jews. There would be small thriving Jewish communities all over Europe.

If you hate Israelis so much, why do you use their products everyday??? Israel, the 100th smallest country in the world, with less than 1/1000th of the world's population, can lay claim to the following: The cell phone was developed in Israel by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel. The Pentium microprocessor in your computer was most likely made in Israel. Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel. The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis. Israel has the fourth largest Air Force in the world (after the U.S., Russia and China). In addition to a large variety of other aircraft, Israel's air force has an aerial arsenal of over 250 F-16's. This is the largest fleet of F-16 aircraft outside of the U. S. Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined. Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita According to industry officials, Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security. US officials now look (finally) to Israel for advice on how to handle airborne security threats. Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world. Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin - 109 per 10,000 people --as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed. In proportion to its population, Israel has the largest number of startup companies in the world. In absolute terms, Israel has the largest number of startup companies than any other country in the world, except the U.S. (3,500 companies mostly in hi-tech). With more than 3,000 high-tech companies and startups, Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world -- apart from the Silicon Valley, U. S. Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds right behind the U.S. Israel has the highest average living standards in the Middle East. The per capita income in 2000 was over $17,500, exceeding that of the UK. On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups. Twenty-four per cent of Israel's workforce holds university degrees, ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and Holland and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees. Israel is the only liberal democracy in the Middle East. When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world's second elected female leader in modern times. Israel was the first nation in the world to adopt the Kimberly process, an international standard that certifies diamonds as "conflict free." Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books. Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees, made more remarkable because this was achieved in an area considered mainly desert. Israel has more museums per capita than any other country. Medicine... Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentation for breast cancer. An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. Every year in U. S. hospitals 7,000 patients die from treatment mistakes. Israel's Givun Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill. Used to view the small intestine from the inside, cancer and digestive disorders. Researchers in Israel developed a new device that directly helps the heart pump blood, an innovation with the potential to save lives among those with heart failure. The new device is synchronized with the camera, helps doctors diagnose heart's mechanical operations through a sophisticated system of sensors. Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan, and less than 60 in Germany. With over 25% of its work force employed in technical professions, Israel places first An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale solar-powered and fully functional electricity generating plant, in southern California's Mojave Desert. All the above while engaged in regular wars with an implacable enemy that seeks its destruction and an economy continuously under strain by having to spend more per capita on its own protection than any other county on earth. And unlike France, Israel actually wins its wars
Which router prevents wireless speakers interference? I currently have a Samsung home theater system with wireless speakers that interferes with my internet connection whenever it is on. I have a Cisco-Linksys WRT400N Dual-Band Wireless-N Router and although it is suppose to prevent entertainment product interference it does not. No other product such as my wireless home phones are affected. It is quite annoying since I'm unable to listen to my Ipod and play the PS3 through my theater system without losing connection to the internet. However, whenever I turn off the system I am connected within seconds. Please if anyone knows a good router I may use that will not be interefered by my speakers. P.S. Speakers and routers are located in different rooms.

Cisco IP Phone System - Small Home Office Setup Help? I'm interested in setting up an IP phone system for my small home/office. I am not technical at all and would like some help on how I need to go about setting it up and what equipment I would need. I would like to have four phones in total. 2x 7960G desk phones and 2x 7920G wireless phones, obviously with the cheapest hardware setup possible. If somebody could explain what hardware I would need (besides the phones) and how I would set up the system via Skype Connect or something similar, program the phone images/extension names/numbers, etc, and have the system up and running for all the usual (internal calls, paging, voicemail). What may also make it harder is that my computer system is made up of iMac's/Macbook Pro's and not Windows PC's, so any open source IP PBX software that can be used instead of Windows based programs would be helpful. Also, I know of the UC520 device, but is there any way I can plug my phones into the computer and run the system off software rather than having to use the UC520 which costs a lot of money? Also, I am aware that the new standard signalling is SiP equipped phones, however the wireless ones only seem capable of SCCP protocol. Can I combine the SCCP wireless with SiP deskphones or not/how would I accomplish that? Any help appreciated! .
To all those in favor of boycotting Israel- a question? This is in response to a question I saw about boycotting Israeli products or businesses that in some way support Israel... Below is a short list of some of the every day technological inventions either made by an israeli or made in Israel... please have a good look The cell phone was developed in Israel by Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel. Most of the Windows NT operating system was developed by Microsoft-Israel. The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel. The AOL Instant Messenger was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis To all those strongly in favor of an Israel boycott- are you willing to give up these products ? Are you also willing to give up medicines and medical technology from the same source ? what if it was your child or a close familiy member ? And if you arent going to give up these products but are still in favor of an Israel boycott - why ? BTW - you are welcome to send any Israel/i made cell phones , pcs my way.... but some how i dont think ill be seeing many people giving them up .... Warlock - if the cell phone was invented in Israel, it still counts as an Israeli invention.... much of the research and development for the likes of Microsoft is done in Israel for good reason... because of the capabilities of scientists and computer specialists there... Im still waiting for an answer from the boycott israel crowd... strangely quiet so far... guys - im asking the question because someone here has already asked a question listing companies that support israel... there is a huge boycott israel campain going on... Im not interested in palastine / gaza politics on this one... i simply want to know if - all those who support the boycott israel campain for WHATEVER REASON are happy to also boycott the things ive listed... I personally am not that bothered about where my products come from in terms of countries, nor am i saying that products are more important than people,,, but given the feelings already expressed by people here about boycotting israel i think its a reasonable question to ask no ?
