Does anyone know the percentage of our telephone wires replaced by optical fiber systems? If you have ANY idea or estimate please tell me!

1. / Less than 3 percent of the nations telephone wires have been 'replaced' by fiber optic systems. Fiber optic cable is a priority for lines in new areas first, then replacement cables will be run. New areas have 99.5% fiber optic cable, and 0.5% telephone wires.
