Can you run a fax machine with broadband telephone system?

  1. most VoIP providers will not be able to support fax or a dial up modem. the carrier that you choose, and the quality and speed of your internet connection, and internal network will affect the ability to use a fax machine with VoIP. some fax machines have the ability to change the speed at which they connect, you can attempt to lower this speed to increase your chances of success.. If you are using DSL you should just use the dial tone side of the DSL for your fax line, and use VoIP as your voice lines... if you must use VoIP then I recommend using a cable company provided phone line for your fax line, as they are at least able to guarantee QoS over there network, and fax transmissions normally work just as good over cable company provided telephone service. Otherwise, you should consider using some type of e-fax service...
  2. You'd be far better off money and simplicity wise to use an online fax service. I recommend giving these articles a read: https://www.wiredfax.com/traditional-fax-vs-wiredfax.php and http://www.wikihow.com/Fax-Without-Using-a-Fax-Machine Good Luck! Thanks, GladToHelp
